Creating Opportunities for a Good Life for All

United Way of Lake County's mission is to unite leadership
and resources to create lasting change that will improve
lives in Lake County
.
  We are a volunteer led organization
that advances the common good by concentrating on three
key issues that are the building blocks for a better life:
education, income and health

Our work is focused on helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability leading toward independence and improving people’s health.  These key issues are rooted in our three impact initiatives:

Success By 6
(children enter kindergarten ready to succeed)

Youth Success
(youth are successful in school and
prepared to enter the workforce
)

Financial Stability
(adults are able to meet their needs
and the needs of their families
)

From the findings of our community assessment we identify
the health and human service issues in our region; discuss
our findings with community leaders and experts and work
collaboratively with them to prioritize needs; and fund the
programs that best address those needs.
(UWLC) 2008 Funding BreakdownUnited Way holds itself and its partner programs accountable for investing time and money wisely and delivering measurable results. We adhere to rigorous accounting standards, and we continue to find ways to reduce costs and increase investment in our community. Every United Way funded program must demonstrate financial integrity and measurable results.
