When women join together, we can have phenomenal impact
The Women’s Leadership Council taps into this formidable power. By engaging women who are
interested in taking lead roles in mobilizing for change, this special United Way initiative
connects philanthropic giving, advocacy on crucial human services issues and volunteerism
to give women an active voice in our community.
The Women’s Leadership Council is a group of accomplished women who form a network
of philanthropists, volunteers, advocates, and community leaders. Our aim is to draw on
diverse women's resources, knowledge, vision, and commitment to help transform our
communities. We empower women with information and opportunities, and provide them
with ways to work together to make a difference through the work of United Way.
Benefits of Membership
Women’s Leadership Council gives you an opportunity to be part of a group of women
leaders who can make a real difference in our community. Depending on your time and
interests, you will be able to get involved in your community, contribute as a
philanthropist, or work as an advocate for the issues championed by this group.
In addition to the satisfaction of making a difference in our community, benefits of
membership in The Women’s Leadership Council include:
- Learn more about the critical issues facing women and children in Lake County every day.
- Participate in important funding decisions for programs that impact women and children.
- Inspire others to community action, especially young women leaders through

How to join
Women who support United Way of Lake County at the Leadership Giving level of $1,000 or
more annually are automatically eligible to join the Women’s Leadership Council. If you
give through a workplace campaign, please complete the campaign pledge form and
indicate your interest in the Women’s Leadership Council, and United Way will contact
you to confirm your membership.
